The CPR Corollary
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
John Longenecker was one of the earliest Paramedics
in Los Angeles EMS. He saw his share of criminal
shootings and wondered why the Paramedics weren't
seeing defensive shootings in equal numbers. When he
found out why not, he began a new understanding of the
role of the armed citizen in every single generation.

He articulates a refreshing insight for the layman of just
how the repeal of gun laws must be the first step back
to safer streets and smaller government
in 2012.

John is married and a father of three, a nationally known
columnist, a talkradio guest and liberty activist on the
role of the ubiquitous armed citizen in America.

"The Author's comparison of Citizen CPR and an armed citizenry made sense to me.  ... Many victims of
daily violence in our communities could avoid severe injury, mayhem or death if they or another citizen
had the capacity to intervene with a firearm to stop the violence. CPR saves lives every day. Guns in the
hands of law-abiding citizens saves lives every day."

Los Angeles County Fire Department (ret)
"John Longenecker understands the true first responders are the ones on scene as emergent threats are
happening, and to deny them the tools to respond appropriately only benefits those intent on doing harm."
- David Codrea, nationally known liberty columnist
and publisher of
War on Guns.
"I heard him on "Tom Gresham's Gun Talk" podcast the other day and he made some very good
points.  This is a guy to watch- he is articulate and definitely on our side.

before any government body, if you're on the lecture circuit, or if you're a handgun safety instructor, then
you might like to add these insights to your liberty message.

John Longenecker's concept of The CPR Corollary was born in 1979.

In 1979 America, the Paramedics had finished their first decade of service.  In 1979, John was asked to join a CPR Panel
convened by the American Heart Association. This conference of speaking to an assembly of physicians and attorneys
was duplicated
simultaneously at major cities around the nation. The Mission in Los Angeles: to introduce the movement
to train
millions in a new project called Citizen CPR. Longenecker's task was to make the Paramedic field  experience
viewpoints
available to that audience.

Today, more than 20 million persons accept CPR as emergency layman intervention prior to the arrival of Paramedics.
But most important is this: Longenecker articulates how the interrogatories and concerns of specialists over training
laymen to perform life-saving tasks - and Longenecker's responses
to those - are identical to the concerns of today over
guns on campus, nationwide concealed carry, personal independence of action in the public interest, the armed citizen
as the norm, and the repeal of gun laws.

There is more to John's concept than a comparison of values and saving lives; it is how the armed citizen actually plays a
role in smaller government for a return of business for jobs, safer streets, and a healthier self-rule.
The CPR Corollary.
Citizens are trusted by the millions to put their hands together to save the life of another, and
they can be trusted by the millions to put their hands together to save their own lives. In the 49
states where citizens are armed, the question of whether they can be trusted is answered
every hour of every day.  Learn how these two skills in any one person mean not only practical
safety, but also smaller government non-violently and through due process.

Before the 2012 election, non-gun owners need to see how the health of the second amendment is the primary indicator
of the overall health of the nation. Though more Americans are becoming gun owners, the freedom movement is still
perceived as the so-called "Gun Lobby", and this isolation affects all Americans.  Educating
non-gun owners on why the
armed citizen should be the norm will unwind a great deal of the harassments endured by all Americans as one people.
The objective is not to get more gun owners, but more acceptance of the armed citizen as the norm as the first step to
smaller government in 2012.
